Donating money directly from your wage – also known as ‘payroll giving’ or 'workplace giving' - is an easy way to help people affected by epilepsy.
Giving through your wage is confidential to you, your employer only needs to know how much you choose to give. And because your donation is made before you pay tax, Epilepsy Action could receive up to £1 for every 60p you give. That means you can help more people affected by epilepsy, at no extra cost to you.
Pia Burke joined Whitbreads' payroll giving scheme and told us, "Giving through my wage is a fantastic way to donate to charity. It's regular income for them and I'm supporting their goal to support others."

How it works
If you pay tax through the scheme known as ‘Pay As You Earn’, or ‘PAYE’, payroll giving allows you to make tax-free donations to Epilepsy Action.
Payroll giving donations effectively include the tax that would have been deducted from your pay or occupational pension. So, instead of the tax going to the Government, the equivalent amount will go to Epilepsy Action instead.
In other words, because your donation is taken from your gross pay, every pound you give will only cost you 80p, or as little as 60p if you are a higher-rate taxpayer.
How to join
Firstly, decide how much you would like to give – the table below gives examples of the amount your take home pay will change by:

Then simply fill in our online form and we’ll do the rest, just have a payslip handy for reference.
