With just over five weeks until Christmas, here’s our countdown of five easy ways to make a difference this festive season.
Add some sparkle to your stocking with the chance to win £1,500 in our Christmas Draw. Tickets are £1 each, enter our Christmas Draw now!
You can also request books of tickets to sell to friends, family or as part of your local community group. Last year, you helped raise over £23,000 for epilepsy services. Help us reach more people and change more lives in 2014.
4. Send colourful greetings
For your nearest and dearest, old friends and new acquaintances, nothing says happy Christmas quite like a seasonal card. Buy charity Christmas cards online from our beautiful range of classic, fun and Christmas-story designs, from £3.25 for a pack of ten cards.
Need cards today? Visit your local Cards for Good Causes pop-up shop for exclusive Epilepsy Action designs.
3. Get in the festive spirit - Take part in a Christmas event!
Don antlers and join the 5k Reindeer Stampede!
Dress up and run as Rudolph, Dasher or Prancer in our 5km family festive fun run in Saltaire, West Yorkshire on Sunday 8 December. If you don’t live in Yorkshire why not take part in a local Christmas fun run and raise sponsorship for Epilepsy Action?
Sing your heart out at our carol concert
Find an event near you
For events in the north west contact Josie on 0161 300 2382 and for events in Hertfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire call Lewis on 01635 282340.
No events near you? Try one of these:
- Host a carol concert or craft fair with your local community group.
- Help people with epilepsy by organising a Christmas jumper day at work or school.
2. Find the perfect present
For someone affected by epilepsy: gift membership of Epilepsy Action
Give someone advice, support and inspiration to live with epilepsy or care for someone who does. Gift membership can be used to join as a standard UK member or as an emember anywhere in the world.
For that hard-to-buy-for relative: an e-specially nice gift
Give an Epilepsy Action e-specially nice gift and you are gifting a lasting difference for people with epilepsy. We’ll send you a card to pass on to your loved one, explaining how the donation you have made on their behalf is creating a brighter future.
For the young and the young at heart: Epilepsy Action stocking fillers
Stuff those stockings and raise awareness of epilepsy this Christmas. Teddy bear key rings, bendy pencils, t-shirts, pin badges, bags, card wallets, wristbands and more – all from just £1 in our online shop.
1. Last-minute shopping? Go online!
Avoid the last-minute Christmas rush by doing your shopping online – and get the big retailers to give something back. Shop ‘til you drop online with Amazon, Argos, John Lewis, Tesco and many more top names and generate donations for free! Visit our mall and start shopping today.
Other ways to get involved this festive season:
Give in celebration - Spare your waistline from more chocolates. Ask your friends and family to donate to Epilepsy Action instead of giving you those chocs and socks!
Spread Christmas cheer at work – No more sending cards to people you sit next to all day! We’ve put all our favourite designs on a wall poster for you to add your festive message and put up in the office. Request your Christmas poster online now!
Give in memory - Light a virtual festive candle to remember someone especially at this time. Visit the Epilepsy Action Sunflower Tribute Fund to leave your message and memories.
Support our appeal - Make a life changing gift this Christmas. £9.60 of every £10 it costs to support people with epilepsy comes from donations and fundraising by people like you. Donate to our appeal today.
Recycle your unwanted stuff - Want a new mobile this Christmas? If you get one, you can donate your old one to us. Along with left over holiday money, stamps from your Christmas mail and even your old car, they can all help to raise vital funds. Find out how your unwanted stuff can help and start recycling now!
Change a life with your New Year’s Resolution - Make your New Year’s resolution a life changing one. Resolve to save £1 a week in our home money box and by next Christmas you’ll be able to donate over £50 to support people with epilepsy. Or why not sign up to take part in one of our fundraising events in 2014? Challenge yourself and raise vital funds for people with epilepsy at the same time!
