In 2018, we have a special focus on young people with epilepsy and their families. A diagnosis of epilepsy can be overwhelming. Both the young person with epilepsy and their family may have a lot of questions about how it will affect them.
We have a range of events running across the UK, providing support and information to young people and their families. Through our programme of events young people and their families will have access to the support and information they need to live well with epilepsy, now and in the future. We will make sure there are opportunities to have fun as a family as well!
When and where are the events?
We are running a number of events in 2018, across the UK. We'll be adding the events for 2018 to our website as booking for them opens. Sign up to hear more about epilepsy events.
We are very excited to provide the Epilepsy Action Family Camp as part of the ‘Epilepsy, my family and me’ 2018 programme of events.
Who are the events for?
The events are for young people who have a diagnosis of epilepsy and their families. By young person, we mean aged 21 and under. Some events may be targeted at particular age groups - children under 12, or for young people aged 12 to 16 for example. Most events are for the whole family, including parents/guardians/carers and/or siblings.
Epilepsy Action Family Camp 2018
The Epilepsy Action Family Camp is a residential adventure weekend from Friday 31 August to Sunday 2 September 2018 at the Summit Centre, near Merthyr Tydfil in Wales. It is a really exciting opportunity for young people with epilepsy and their families to have a fantastic adventure in the Welsh Valleys. Come along and try new activities, meet new people and learn about living well with epilepsy!
The Family Camp is for young people with epilepsy aged 8 to 17 and their families. Younger siblings are welcome to attend, but will need to be looked after by a parent or guardian.
