We fight to improve the lives
of everyone affected by epilepsy

Chris Arnold

My Epilepsy journey started when my close family and friends and also work colleagues had noticed me having absence/focal seizures (thought it was just anxiety) maybe twice a year since 2016..I never really thought anything of it at this point!

My Seizures became frequent around jan/feb 2020 time when my boss had noticed them at work and I went on to do a security course in April and this is when I had a few seizures in that time and got taken up to the hospital by one of the gentleman on the course, after a few hospital visits and referrals I was later diagnosed with ‘suspected’ Epilepsy.

In that time I had taken time off work as needed time to rest and I still went on to finish the security course to finally achieve it and pass!

I got the confirmation of my epilepsy in June 2020 after MRI scan. Also experienced full body (tonic) seizures around this time which I was very scared about and confused as to what had been going on.

Medication has been increasingly increased over last few months to control seizures- still random, every few weeks I still get them. I am trying my best to keep it together!

Have had several seizures now in front of my sister now who has been absolutely amazing but it is very hard for her to see these and deal with them on a regular basis. My sister has been absolutely amazing through this all and I can’t thank her enough.

Reason I post this is i do not have many people around me who know much about epilepsy so having people who can listen and relate is good to have. Thankyou for taking your time out of your day if you have read this.
