I was diagnosed with epilepsy when I was 18 months old. My first seizure was convulsions that I had in my cot.
I can't remember much in till I was a bit older, the seizures were called tonic colonic. Just before I had a seizure
I always felt like l was about to be sick and put my head down.

A few seconds after that I went into a seizure.

During the seizure my head turned left and hands starts to shake, some times my lips turned blue. They usually lasted from 3 to 15 seconds, although occasionally they would last much longer, and occasionally I would have them in clusters throughout the day but then I may go a week before having another one.

After seizures I would often be left feeling very drained

I remember having seizures every 7-14 days whilst I was in school. I often had seizures in my sleep. I used to wake up in the morning on the floor often with injuries. As I got closer to adulthood the seizures would wake me up from sleeping.

When I was round 13 years old my doctor ask if I wanted to have a operation to my brain called Temporal Lobectomy, I said yes but I needed to wait for 10 to 15 years. I had several different tests before I had Temporal lobectomy.

I had the operation around 10 years. I have not had a full seizure since although my partner tells me I sometimes twitch in my sleep. I now live with my partner and my four year old son.
