We fight to improve the lives
of everyone affected by epilepsy

Craig Sladden

I had my first seizure when I was 4 years old. Since then it has come and gone, going up to 4 years without one. During my teens and 20's most seizures were caused by being careless. All being sleep related.

This was all manageable until i was 30 then they got more frequent and unpredictable. I am always ill within 30 minutes of waking up which makes it more controllable. I at one point had 3 in one day which changed everything. My memory deteriorated greatly as did concentration. I mange this the best I can with help from my wife and close friends.

After a recent change in medication dose the seizures have become less frequent. It is still tough at times to find a positive outlook on life but we must soldier on. We must never give up hope. It is important to realise no one is alone in this. I keep myself busy with work and social media (instagram mainly) which help me to cope with life. People have been amazing with their support.
