Maxwell Centre, 70 Stenhouse Street, Cowdenbeath, KY4 9DD, United Kingdom

Purple Caffe Fife was formed in 2017 to offer support and information to children and families living with epilepsy. Now a Scottish charitable incorporated organisation, the group was formed by a number of families, all of whom were seeking support for their own children.  Based in the Fife local authority area, we hold monthly informal meetings on the first Thursday of each month at The Maxwell Centre in Cowdenbeath. All ofl the family can come along, talk about their experiences of epilepsy over a cuppa, and the children and their siblings can meet up with kids of their own age.

As well as the monthly meetings, we are also looking to help raise awareness of epilepsy, and similar serious neurological conditions by working with schools and local community groups.

We aim to work closely with local bodies to educate, inform and support.

One of our other constituted aims is to raise funds to be able to donate much-needed epilepsy aids to families in Fife. We have already donated anti-suffocation pillows, and are hoping to begin purchasing items such as bed alarms, GPS trackers and smartwatches to help give parents and carers peace of mind.
