1 April, 2003

A pharmaceutical company currently developing an impotence drug to be taken as a spray rather than a tablet have said they are also developing an inhaled drug for epilepsy.

UK-based pharmaceuticals company Vectura have announced the start of patient screening and enrolment into a clinical study for its product, VR 004, for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. The study will be the first where the drug has been delivered through the lungs and it is anticipated that drugs delivered this way will have a faster action than drugs delivered orally.

In addition the company has said that its plans also include inhaled drugs for cystic fibrosis and asthma.
