Keppra 500mg tablets supply problem in the UK

29 Aug 2019

We have checked with UCB, the makers of Keppra, and there is a supply problem with Keppra 500mg.

They are not available at the wholesalers, but pharmacists can order them directly from UCB. No other dosages and formulations of Keppra are affected.

I use online pharmacies. I tried getting Keppra 500 through Echo to be advised that their wholesaler did not have any. They apparently only source through wholesalers. So I have tried Pharmacy2U - I do not know if they will source direct if wholesaler problems. If there is a problem, how do I source my drugs? Go to Dr and get him to prescribe via EPS to local chemist. Is the problem linked to stockpiling by the big chemists aka Lloyds, Boots etc? EPS was working well for me but now I have concerns.
