Epilepsy in prison DVD

8 Nov 2013

Epilepsy Action has launched a DVD called Epilepsy in prison. The new resource is for professionals working in prisons and prisoners. It will help raise awareness of the issues associated with living with epilepsy in a prison setting

The DVD, set in a prison, features the stories of two prisoners with epilepsy. It focuses on concerns such as telling others about their epilepsy, medication and the need for support.  It was developed with the help of prisoners. They scripted the film to ensure it is realistic and addresses some of the issues a person with epilepsy could face.

Copies of the DVD are being sent to prisons and youth offending units across England and Wales. Alternatively, order a copy of the DVD or follow a link to watch the film. It is also available to watch on Epilepsy Action’s website at epilepsy.org.uk/prisondvd  SR
