Epilepsy drug recalled by UK watchdog

12 Jul 2013

Levetiracetam is among several prescription medicines being recalled by the UK's medicines watchdog. The medicines, made at an Indian factory, failed a routine safety check.

The watchdog, called the MHRA, has said that there is no evidence of a risk to patient safety. It only wants pharmacies to return their stocks. Individual patients do not need to return their medicines, and should continue taking them as prescribed by their family doctor.
