Edinburgh Napier University - Graduate certificate in the care of people with epilepsy/ BSc option rich Programme

This epilepsy course will be suitable for all health care professionals within primary care, secondary care and the voluntary sector that work with people who have epilepsy.

This programme will only be delivered as a part time option by distance learning. You will complete three compulsory 20 credit modules:

  1. NMS09147 Diagnosis and management of epilepsy
  2. NMS09146 Management of psychosocial issues in long term conditions
  3. NMS09152 Work based learning

The programme is offered over 3 trimesters. Next course commences September 2016

A variety of online teaching strategies including guided reading, online lectures and online discussions will be employed within the modules. These activities are designed to enhance the learning experience by encouraging you to engage with the material in a meaningful way.

If you have a diploma in nursing you may be able to enrol on the BSc- option rich programme and complete the three 20 credit modules, thus obtaining a first degree.

Fees for 2016/17 for home and European Union students are £305.00 per 20 credit module, so £915.00 in total.

London South Bank University – Degree Level Epilepsy Modules (in collaboration with the Epilepsy Society)

The two Epilepsy Care modules can be studied as stand alone courses, or taken as part of a BSc (Hons) Professional Nursing Practice (Neuroscience Care). The courses are degree level units which address the neurobiology, diagnosis, treatment and management of epilepsy.

There are six study days per semester and run on Tuesdays at Epilepsy Society's Chalfont Centre for Epilepsy in Buckinghamshire

Module 1 - Pathophysiology of the Epilepsies: Investigation and Diagnosis (in collaboration with the Epilepsy Society)

Module 2 - Treatment & Management of the Epilepsies (in collaboration with the Epilepsy Society)
