Epilepsy Action works with Tysers to help cover our members for personal accidents. Eligible members of Epilepsy Action receive £1,000 worth of personal accident insurance absolutely free!
Cover
The policy is unique in covering not only day-to-day accidents but also accidents caused by or causing seizures.
The £1,000 of free cover included with membership of Epilepsy Action, means a payment of £1,000 if any or all of the following occur as a result of an accident:
- death
- loss of one or more limbs
- loss of sight in one or both eyes
- loss of speech or loss of hearing
- permanent total disablement
For Life Members £1,500 worth of cover is provided for the first five years only.
All members can buy additional cover.
For further details, including situations and activities for which the policy does not apply and definitions of the terms used by the insurers, please read our Personal Accident Insurance booklet.
Buying additional cover
Members can buy extra units of insurance at a cost of £6 for every extra £2,500 worth of cover. Members can purchase a maximum of £20,000 of extra cover.
For further details, please read our Personal Accident Insurance booklet.
To buy extra cover please print off and return our form.
Eligibility
This scheme is available exclusively to members of Epilepsy Action living in the UK.
There are some restrictions on eligibility and cover for those over 70 or under 17 years of age. Please refer to the Personal Accident Insurance booklet for details.
If you have a child with epilepsy and you would like them to receive the insurance cover, the membership must be in their name (but can still be paid for by an adult).
Our partnership with Tysers
Tysers are an insurance broker authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority.
Any offer of insurance, and the premium charged, remains a commercial decision based on a calculation of risk by the insurer / underwriter sourced by Tysers. This will include factors associated with your epilepsy.
Contacting Tysers does not guarantee an offer of insurance. Epilepsy Action cannot take responsibility for the cover of a policy or the outcomes of any claims.
