National Epilepsy Week events in Colchester

Epilepsy Action is holding a week of events in Colchester to mark National Epilepsy Week (May 20-26).

An advice and information afternoon for anyone with an interest in the condition is being held in the Grand Jury Room at Colchester Town Hall on May 22, 2007.

The event will take place from 2.00pm until 5.00 pm when Epilepsy Action staff and volunteers, including Sheila Baker, accredited volunteer and chair of the Colchester branch, will be available throughout the afternoon to answer questions about epilepsy in confidence.

Epilepsy Action Cromer awareness day

The UK’s leading member-led epilepsy charity, Epilepsy Action, is joining forces with Well Being in North Norfolk (WINN) to hold a seminar on epilepsy.

The event, which will take place on Monday, May 21 at St John’s Ambulance Hall, Bond Street, Cromer, from 10.30am to 2.00pm, is open to people with epilepsy, their families, carers, friends or anyone interested in finding out more about the condition.

Epilepsy Action calls for an end to discrimination

Epilepsy Action has criticised the outdated attitudes of those UK employers who continue to discriminate against people with epilepsy, as part of a campaign launched to mark National Epilepsy Week (May 20-26).

The country’s leading epilepsy charity is demanding that company bosses confront their prejudices as figures show that unemployment rates among people with the condition are still unacceptably high.
