A survey, by UK charity Epilepsy Action, released this week reveals that children with epilepsy are not being fully supported in schools, according to teachers and parents. The survey suggests that children with epilepsy are not reaching their full potential, not performing in line with their classmates and regularly miss school because of their epilepsy.
Pam Milne, stalwart of the Stamford Branch of Epilepsy Action, has won a national award in recognition of her work for the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy charity.
The Epilepsy Action Branch Member of the Year Award will be presented to Pam by Epilepsy Action’s Chief Executive, Philip Lee, on Thursday 31 May from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, at The Meeting Room, Stamford and Rutland Hospital, Ryhall Road, Stamford.
An Offerton mum, whose son has epilepsy, is preparing to lace up her running shoes to complete this year’s Bupa Great Manchester Run. Linzi Hyde will attempt the challenging 10k run on Sunday 20 May to raise vital funds for national charity Epilepsy Action. The charity provides advice and support to the 600,000 people with epilepsy in the UK.
