Treatment options beyond medication for people with difficult to control epilepsy in Belfast

Epilepsy Action Northern Ireland, part of the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy organisation, is holding an event called Treatment options beyond medication for hard to control epilepsy.

This event will take place on Saturday 22 September from 10.00am to 2.00pm at the Holiday Inn, Ormeau Avenue, Belfast.

The event is open to anyone with an interest in epilepsy. Speakers will include Dr Jim Morrow, consultant neurologist, and Mr Gavin Quigley, consultant neurosurgeon, from the Royal Hospital, Belfast. A dietician will be present too.

Epilepsy information day in Chelmsford

Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy organisation, is hosting an advice and information day for people affected by epilepsy in Chelmsford and the surrounding area.

The event will take place on 22 September from 9.00am until 5.00pm at High Chelmer Shopping Precinct, Chelmsford. There will be an information stand, and members of Epilepsy Action’s Mid Essex Branch will be available to talk about issues relating to epilepsy.

Newcastle-upon-Tyne man goes the extra mile for epilepsy charity

A Newcastle-upon-Tyne man is preparing to lace up his running shoes to complete the Bupa Great North Run. Ian Gilmour is taking part to raise funds for national charity Epilepsy Action. The charity provides advice and support to the 600,000 people with epilepsy in the UK.

Ian, (38), will attempt the prestigious 13.1 miles through Tyneside on Sunday 16 September. He has chosen to take part for Epilepsy Action has his fiancée is an epilepsy nurse specialist. Through this, Ian says he has found about the problems people with epilepsy can face.
