Bishops Stortford duo take on marathon challenge for epilepsy charity

Two Bishops Stortford friends are preparing to lace up their running shoes to complete this year’s Virgin London Marathon. Lisa Lawlor and Jo Coldicott will attempt the challenging 26.2 mile run on Sunday 22 April to raise vital funds for national charity Epilepsy Action. The charity provides advice and support to the 600,000 people with epilepsy in the UK.
Lisa, 38, and Jo, 41, are supporting Epilepsy Action as one of Jo’s eight year-old twin daughters has recently been diagnosed with epilepsy.

Oxfordshire birthday girl puts the kettle on for chari-tea

An Oxfordshire woman, who has epilepsy, is preparing to put the kettle on as part of Epilepsy Action’s National Tea Break. Jenny Mateo has organised a tea break to celebrate her birthday and help raise funds for Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy organisation.

The event will take place at 2pm on Saturday 13 August – Jenny’s birthday – at Bridge House, Wallingford Road in Shillingford, Oxfordshire. 

Hemel Hempstead man goes the extra mile for epilepsy charity

A Hemel Hempstead man is preparing to lace up his running shoes to complete the British 10k London Run. Kyle Stephens will take part in aid of Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy organisation.

Kyle, 27, will join 25,000 others in running 10 kilometres through the heart of London on Sunday 10 July, to help support the 456,000 people with epilepsy in the UK. Much of the course will be the same as the route being used for the men's and women's Olympic marathon courses in 2012. Kyle is running for Epilepsy Action as a close family friend has the condition.
