A Bishop’s Waltham man will be one of 26 support walkers accompanying Phil Packer on his Virgin London Marathon ‘26’ challenge on Sunday 25 April. Gregory Vincent, 19, will walk mile 13 across London’s famous Tower Bridge landmark with Phil to support national charity Epilepsy Action.
A Gloucester grandma is taking part in a tandem parachute jump to raise vital funds for Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy charity.
Marlene Rees, 76, will be taking jumping out of a plane from 13,000 feet on Saturday 8 May. The jump takes place at Netheravon’s Parachuting Centre of Excellence in Wiltshire where Marlene’s son served in the army. Marlene is taking on this challenge to support her granddaughter, Clair, who developed epilepsy soon after starting university.
Epilepsy Action is appealing for keen cyclists to join the Loire Valley Cycle Challenge on 24-26 September to raise vital funds for the charity.
The event challenges teams of four to cycle 500 miles in relay through stunning French countryside. The route takes teams from Rouen in Normandy to St Nectaire in the Massif Central in just three days.
