Charity delighted at epilepsy surgery announcement

Epilepsy Action is delighted with today’s announcement that four surgical centres have been named to provide specialist paediatric epilepsy surgery across England.

Bristol Royal Infirmary, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital and Manchester/Alder Hey have been named by the Department of Health. The hospitals will carry out all operations on children suitable for surgery with difficult to control epilepsy.

Relaxation for mind and body for people with epilepsy in Malvern

Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy organisation, is hosting an event called “Relaxation: mind and body”. The aim of the event is to encourage people with epilepsy to have healthy lifestyles and a positive attitude towards living with epilepsy.

It will take place on Saturday 19 May from 10.30am to 4.00pm at Priory Lodge Hall and Priory Park, Avenue Road, Great Malvern. Workshops will be booked on a first come first served basis.
