Running in Memory (Lancaster)

James Westbrook from Lancaster is taking part in this year’s BUPA Great North Run in aid of Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy organisation.

The race, which is the world’s biggest half marathon, will take place on Sunday 30 September, starting in Newcastle and finishing 13.1 miles later in South Shields.

Epilepsy Action Speakers Evening in Blackburn and Hyndburn

Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy charity, is holding a presentation on epilepsy on Wednesday September 26 between 7.00pm and 9.00pm. The event will be held at Blackburn Central Library, Northgate Entrance, Blackburn.

Lesley North, epilepsy specialist nurse at the Royal Preston Hospital, will be giving a talk on epilepsy and safety.

Doodling for charity pays off (Southport)

Clients at The Stroke Association in Southport, Merseyside have been named Group category winners in this year’s National Doodle Day competition.

National Doodle Day took place earlier this year in aid of Epilepsy Action and the Neurofibromatosis Association. Members of the public were invited to submit doodles into a national competition. The judging of the various categories was carried out by actor, author and Doodle Day Patron, Maureen Lipman. The work of all the winners is displayed in the Hall of Fame on the National Doodle Day website
