Epilepsy conference in Swansea

A one-day conference on epilepsy, aimed at anyone in Wales with an interest in the condition, will take place in Swansea on Saturday November 17.

The event is being organised by the UK’s leading member-led epilepsy charity, Epilepsy Action, and will take place from 9.00am until 4.00pm at The Marriott Hotel, Maritime Quarter in Swansea.

The theme of the conference is Epilepsy and You and it is supported by the lottery funded grants programme ‘Awards for All Wales’. The grant has been awarded to the Llanelli branch of Epilepsy Action for this regional conference.

Foyle seminar on epilepsy (Derry)

Epilepsy Action, the UK’s leading member-led epilepsy charity, is holding a free public seminar on epilepsy in Derry on Wednesday October 24, 2007.

The seminar, organised by the charity’s Foyle branch, will be held at the City Hotel, Queen’s Quay, Derry from 7.00 – 9.00 pm. Dr Mark Mc Carron, consultant neurologist at Altnagelvin Hospital, will be talking about the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy.

Ena Bingham, epilepsy specialist nurse will also be present at the seminar to speak about her role as a specialist nurse, followed by a question and answer session.
