Flying High for Charity (Maidenhead)

Laura Carrigan from Maidenhead, Berkshire, took part in a parachute jump in aid of Epilepsy Action, the UK’s leading member led epilepsy charity. The jump took place in Bicester on Saturday June 2.

Laura says: “I was diagnosed with epilepsy when I was 11. I have been seizure free for 11 years now and I really want to give something back to Epilepsy Action who have helped me a lot. I was so nervous before the jump but it was fantastic! So far I have managed to raise just over £1,000, which I am really pleased with.”

Reading & District Epilepsy Branch Is On The Move

Epilepsy Action Reading & District Branch is set to move to a new, larger venue in June for their monthly meetings.

The meetings from the old Town Hall are moving to RISC at 35-39 London Street in Reading, near the Queen’s Road car park.

Susan Mistry, regional services manager for the South East, said: “The new venue has a larger capacity and will hopefully be more informal, but just as handy as it is still in the town centre. “

Epilepsy Advice & Information Day in Leatherhead

Epilepsy Action is holding an advice and information day in Leatherhead on Thursday May 31 at the Leatherhead Institute between 10.30am and 4pm.

The drop-in day aims to provide people with general information on epilepsy and activities in the local branches. Regional service manager for the South East, Susan Mistry, said: “This is an opportunity for anyone with an interest in epilepsy to come along and speak to us about their concerns, and to find out more about living with the condition. We will have a range of leaflets and information available for people to take away.”
