Solihull man goes the extra mile for epilepsy charity

Mark Cordiner-Barton from Shirley is taking part in the Flora London Marathon on Sunday 26 April in aid of Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy charity.

Mark, who will be among thousands attempting the challenging 26.2 mile run, will be running in memory of his colleague and friend, James Score, who sadly passed away last year due to epilepsy.

Mark, who has already raised £1300 sponsorship, said: “I have supported the charity for a few years now and want to continue raising as much money as possible to help support people affected by epilepsy.”

Epilepsy advice and information meeting in Birmingham

Epilepsy Action is holding an advice and information meeting on Saturday 25 April with a view to forming a new branch in Birmingham, and supporting people living with epilepsy in the area.

The event will run from 1.00pm to 4.00pm at The Priory Meeting Rooms, 40 Bull Street, located in the city centre, off Corporation Street.  Its aim is to encourage people with an interest in epilepsy to come along and pick up useful advice and information, and to share their experiences of living with the condition.

Mother flying high for epilepsy charity

A mother from Bromsgrove will be taking part in a tandem parachute jump to raise vital funds for Epilepsy Action, the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy charity.

Sharon Crofts will attempt the ‘once in a life time’ experience on Tuesday 14 April and has already raised over £300. She’ll be jumping from a height of up to 13,000 feet and will free-fall at 120mph, all to support people living with this serious and often over-looked condition.
