Harrogate couple’s 100k challenge for epilepsy charity

16 March, 2010

A Harrogate couple have pledged their support to this year's Epilepsy Action Bradford 10k road race. The event, which takes place on Sunday 21 March, raises money for national charity Epilepsy Action to help support people with epilepsy.

Susie and Ian Holmes, inspired by Eddie Izzard's Sport Relief challenge, have come up with their own 100k challenge. They will run 10 10k runs in 10 days with the annual Epilepsy Action Bradford 10K being their final race.

Halifax fundraisers' big break for epilepsy charity

20 January, 2010

A team of Halifax fundraisers have raised over £1,000 for Leeds-based national charity, Epilepsy Action, by holding a pool tournament, pub crawl and auction.

Lisa Geoghegan and Guyon Patton arranged the events, which took place in November at The Queen's Head Tavern, Keighley Road, in memory of Lisa's son, Michael. Michael died five years ago, aged 18, after having an epileptic seizure. His epilepsy was not diagnosed until after his death. Lisa and Guyon decided to raise money for Epilepsy Action to help raise awareness of epilepsy in the Halifax area.
