Walk for epilepsy in Harrogate

Epilepsy Action’s Harrogate Branch are organising a sponsored walk to celebrate National Epilepsy Week, and to raise funds for an epilepsy specialist nurse in Harrogate. 

The walk will take place at 11am on Sunday 15 May from Valley Gardens in Harrogate. Walkers will meet at the Magnesia Well. 

Carl, Chair of the Harrogate Branch, said: “Epilepsy Action’s Harrogate Branch have been campaigning and raising money for an epilepsy specialist nurse in Harrogate for a while now. The aim of the walk is to raise funds for a new epilepsy specialist nurse post in Harrogate. 

Doncaster Epilepsy Action Branch charity walk

The Doncaster Branch of Epilepsy Action is appealing for people to pull on their walking shoes to support people with epilepsy. The branch will host the Doncaster Lakeside Wonga Walk to raise awareness of epilepsy. The walk also raises funds to help support the 456,000 people living with epilepsy in the UK. 

The walk, on Sunday 15 May, starts at 2.00pm and takes walkers on a 3-mile circular route, starting and finishing at Keepmoat Stadium. The route is suitable for all abilities and has wheelchair access. 

Yeadon charity wins £50,000 of PR support in national competition

Leeds-based national charity Epilepsy Action has been chosen as one of three charities to benefit from £50,000 worth of support from London agency Just:: Health PR. The charity won the pro-bono support as part of the agency’s A Just:: Cause – Pitching for Partnership charity initiative launched in 2010.Epilepsy Action was among 10 finalists invited to pitch to a panel of PR professionals and journalists in November. The agency’s support will be used as part of Epilepsy Action’s campaign to raise awareness of epilepsy, a condition which affects 456,000 people in the UK.
