(UK residents only)

If you, or your family and friends need advice and information about epilepsy in languages other than English, you can do this by using our language service.
The Epilepsy Helpline is able to offer advice and information in 150 languages.
How does it work?
You can call the Epilepsy Helpline on 0808 800 5050. It is open from 9am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 4pm on Fridays. Your call will be answered by an adviser. Tell the adviser which language you need. If you can’t do this in English, you can ask someone to make the call for you.
The adviser will ask you for your name and which language you need. You should stay on the line while the adviser gets an interpreter to join the call. This will take a minute or two. You can then talk to the adviser through the interpreter. You will get advice and information on epilepsy straight away.
What about quality?
All interpreters are highly qualified in their field. Their professionalism means that they will interpret exactly what is said.
What about confidentiality?
All interpreters sign confidentiality agreements. In addition, the Epilepsy Helpline is a totally confidential service.
This service is currently only available to UK residents.
We can provide references and information on the source material we use to write our epilepsy advice and information pages. Please contact our Epilepsy Helpline by email at helpline@epilepsy.org.uk.
