David Varney, chairman of the Derby branch of Epilepsy Action, has won a national award in recognition of his work for the UK’s largest member-led epilepsy charity.
The Epilepsy Action Branch Member of the Year Award will be presented to David by David Powell, Epilepsy Action’s regional services manager for Central England, at a branch meeting at 7.30pm on Tuesday May 13 at Devonshire House, Education Centre, Derbyshire Royal Infirmary.
A Nottingham based Heavy Metal night and local band, Evil Scarecrow, have teamed up to arrange an all day heavy metal gig in aid of Epilepsy Action, the UK’s leading member led epilepsy charity.
Craig Fox from Wellingborough will be holding a hard dance event on Sunday July 8 in aid of Epilepsy Action, the UK’s leading member led epilepsy charity.
The event is open to the public and will be held at Kings Way Field, off Kings Way Road in Wellingborough at 12.00pm until 6.00pm.
Craig says: “This will be a hard dance event which will allow up and coming DJs to play to a crowd and give them a chance to shine. One of our fellow DJs has epilepsy and we want to be able to raise awareness of the condition in Wellingborough.”
