Epilepsy training for professionals

During 2011, our website was visited by over one million people. This included members of the public, health professionals, teachers, students, employers and international clients.

Childhood Epilepsy Conference

To be held in London on 16 May 2013, the Childhood Epilepsy Conference has the title "Recent Clinical and Research Advances in Childhood Epilepsy".

The conference aims to provide an insight into the latest advances concerning the epilepsies encountered in neonates, infants, children and adolescents. Implications for everyday clinical practice will be emphasised, as well as possibilities for new areas of research. The meeting will provide opportunities to exchange knowledge and to share clinical experiences.

CPD has been applied for at The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and 6 points are expected for the conference.

Half day epilepsy awareness courses

Community Epilepsy Services is running courses aimed at people with epilepsy, nurses and health care professionals, carers, families, employers and the legal profession.

The course will cover a wide range of issues including types of epilepsy and seizure classification; causes and triggers of epilepsy; first aid; how epilepsy can affect lifestyle, self esteem and independence; driving regulations; employment issues; medication and individualised care plans.
