I was diagnosed with epilepsy at age 11, the cause of which was never discovered, I spent 11 years of my life with almost daily seizures, "partial absences" and from age 16 chronic migraine.
Now at age 23 I've gone through a large amount of medications that were available to me and tried many different treatments.
Then last year the most unbelievable thing happened, everything stopped, after years of suffering and constant pain, the inability to work or study I was suddenly fine, I'm now almost 2 years completely seizure free, I live with my partner of 5 years and i have a fantastic job as a healthcare assistant in an elderly persons nursing home.
I've now completely claimed back my life which epilepsy had a hold of, I'd never had reached this point In my life without the support of my family and each and every NHS Paramedic, GP, Nurse & Specialist whom I've seen throughout the years.
To everyone who's at the same point as me, congratulations! And to everyone still fighting, never ever give up, it seems hard and the road is long, but one day it'll come to an end, wether like me you find a treatment plan that works and controls your condition completely or you have some kind of miraculous recovery, one day it'll get better!
