Former X Factor winner Sam Bailey rushed her son Tommy to A&E yesterday after he had what she called a “massive seizure”.
In an update on Instagram at 2:30 this morning, Sam, 49, shared that they had arrived by ambulance at around 7:30pm and had been at the busy ward for seven hours, still waiting to see a doctor.
Tommy, 17, was diagnosed with epilepsy in May 2024 after experiencing tonic-clonic seizures for a year.
In her update, Sam said Tommy is taking medication for his epilepsy but has now had two seizures within five weeks.
Sam said Tommy’s seizure had caused him to injure his face and that may have led to a concussion.
Sam said: “Hi peeps. So, I’m in hospital with my son. He’s had a seizure, so we’re in children’s A&E.
“Tommy’s asleep. He may have concussion, hence why we’re staying in [hospital].
“We still don’t know why he’s having seizures even though he’s on medication for epilepsy. [The medication] should stop the seizures but he’s had two in five weeks, so we’re not sure what’s going on.
“My poorly son had a massive seizure, but he’s doing okay.”
