Are there any support groups/services in North Wales?
Anglesey and the North Wales Coast in particular?

Submitted by Bethan on

Epilepsy Action Cymru does not have a group in North Wales. However a well established Mersey Region Epilepsy Group meets in Bangor. To find out more details please contact (0151) 298 2666, or write to: MREA, Neurosupport Centre, Norton Street, Liverpool, L3 8LR.

are there any groups in the vale of glamorgan

Submitted by lisa prowse on

The nearest group we have to the Vale of Glamorgan is a new group that is starting in Bridgend on Monday 24 September in Talk of the Town Café, 4A Nolton Street, Bridgend at 10.30am. However, you're interested in working with with me to set up a group in the Vale I would be happy to do so. If so, drop me an email: asivapatham@epilepsy.org.uk

Very disappointed there isn't a service for ppl in north Wales specifically Denbighshire or Wrexham why is stuff like this always in the south ? Considering this is an organisation for epilepsy thought u would have realised that some of us can't travel long distances with out having to put our selfs at risk and we don't always have family willing to help as we are now in the information age have you thought of an online group discussion that can take place once a wk where we can talk to like minded ppl and ask questions and actually get an answer without being passed about ? Would be very helpful I'm willing to help organise it and have experience of such things with the stroke Assosiation :)

Was talked into holding a fundraising Tea Break, to mark Epilepsy Actions National Tea Break. Held an event this morning in the Brynmill Community Centre, Swansea & had contacted various people weeks prior to the event, to display a poster advertising it. Perhaps it wasn't the best place to choose to hold it, but that wasn't anything to do with me. I had the event however advertised also on the local radio, set up a facebook 'event' page, advertised it on the Epilepsy Actions online 'event page.' It however was a very poor turn out & has again left me very disappointed, like when I agreed some years ago to participate in the annual fundraiser. Aren't there more people in Swansea, like myself, that either have epilepsy themselves, or people that are carers of people with Epilepsy, that would show interest in such an event? Disappointed that Epilepsy Action didn't give me more support with regards organising the event & therefore help me contact more of the people that were more likely to show an interest in an event for Epilepsy Action, as obviously I don't know where they are & who they are.
