Community Fundraising Manager, 34½ hours per week, £32,341 annual salary
Leeds based with regular travel.
A great opportunity to head up a new community fundraising team for a national charity. This is an exciting new role and team and you will have an important part to play in building this new team.
Epilepsy Action is looking for a highly motivated and organised person to head up its new community fundraising team. This role will allow you to develop your strategy and fundraising development, as well as staff management skills. This will include managing a community fundraising team of five, possibly building to ten, across a number of geographical areas. You will be working in a friendly and supportive environment. Responsible for managing and generating income from community fundraising this role will include:
- Leading and managing community fundraising activities
- Developing future strategies
- Developing local relationships with corporate organisations and community groups
- Researching and developing new fundraising activities and events.
We are looking for someone who meets the following:
- A minimum of three year’s effective events organisation and/or working with volunteers in fundraising or events industry or similar demonstrable skill set
- Demonstrable evidence of leadership and staff management skills and proven ability to motivate others to raise income through the various streams
- Ability to use own initiative, and to work to and manage multiple deadlines
- Keen to be part of a successful and friendly fundraising team.
This role provides an opportunity to get involved right at the start of the development of a new team, with the ability for some quick wins by bringing some of our national events to the local audience. In addition, you will be able to play a key role in the ongoing development of the community fundraising strategy. So there is plenty of opportunity to develop new ideas.

A great opportunity to be part of a new community fundraising team for a national charity. There are five exciting roles in a new team, and you will have an important part to play in it.
Epilepsy Action is looking for five highly motivated and organised people to be part of its new community fundraising team. This role will allow you to develop your fundraising skills in a community setting, as well as your volunteer management skills. This will include developing and organising locally-based fundraising events and local sports events. You will work with volunteers, local individuals, community groups and companies. Delivering a wide range of fundraising opportunities and responsible for generating income, this role will include:
- Developing and organising locally-based fundraising events, activities and collections, and seeking involvement in externally organised local sports events
- Generating income from local individuals, local community groups and local corporates
- Maximising involvement in activities generated by the national events team at the local level
- Developing and working with volunteers
- Developing local relationships with corporate organisations and community groups.
We are looking for people who meet the following:
- Proven experience of effective events organisation and/or working with volunteers.
- Proven experience of researching, developing and promoting events/services or products.
- Experience of establishing and managing effective relationships with community and/ corporate organisations.
- Proven experience of securing donations, grant income or new business.
- Keen to be part of a successful and friendly fundraising team.
