How Epilepsy Action will use your personal information

Monthly donation

Make a regular donation, monthly, quarterly or annually and always be safe in the knowledge you are making a difference to people with epilepsy.

How your gift helps

Donations fund £9 of every £10 it costs to improve the lives of people affected by epilepsy. Your generosity will provide advice, campaign for fairness and offer a lifeline to those affected by epilepsy when they need it most.

Trusts and foundations

As Epilepsy Action receives no statutory funding and over 95% of our income is from donations, forming partnerships with trusts and foundations is essential to our work. Find out how we can help you fulfil your charitable objectives and create brighter futures for people with epilepsy.

Give in celebration

Donate in lieu of flowers at your wedding, instead of gifts at your anniversary or birthday party - make your day so much more special and give the gift of hope to those affected by epilepsy.

Recycle

The best of both worlds, help the environment and help those affected by epilepsy and maybe even de-clutter at the same time!

Hi, I was just looking to see if you could text a donation eg Purple Day and so your text donation on this page, I personally think £5.00 is a lot to ask people, for example £3 would be more realistic to people, also Epilepsy Society have got a Text a Purple Day Pound, which is better, which is even better, more people are likely to take part in this then E.A £5 one, people are just being asked so many times re fundraising, so in my oppion low fig is better than to high.

All have a lovely Purple Day at E.A.

Hi myself and 15 friends are entering three teams in the Belfast marathon and have chosen epilepsy ni are one of two charities. We have set up a donation page with Virgin money fund-raising and we where wondering if you could supply use with some t-shirts for running. Looking forward to hearing back from yourselves.
Thanks Carol

Why if some other charities are now using this ICE bucket challenge that there is not an advertised Epilepsy related number for donation. You don't have to have an epileptic condition to do this therefore you are not promoting any perceived danger to sufferers and advising against it.My wife would like to take this challenge, does not have epilepsy but would like a donation this to go an epilepsy related charity. Why no 5 digit code for this available? People have different charities close to their hearts. Cancer, Muscular-Dystrophy,ALS and others why not use this and social media platforms for donations and awareness?

Good morning, Robert.

Thanks for getting in touch and for your enthusiasm to raise funds in support of people with epilepsy.

A few people have donated to Epilepsy Action as part of the ice bucket challenge already. We’re grateful for the support, but we’re conscious of not promoting it directly as that challenge is a campaign intended to raise funds and awareness for motor neurone disease.

There are a couple of numbers that supporters can text to donate to Epilepsy Action – texting the word ‘act’ to the number 70700 will make a donation of £5, while the word ‘donate’ texted to the number 70500 will give £3. Texts cost the standard network rate plus the value of the donation, and Epilepsy Action will receive 100 per cent of the donation.

Alternatively, there are many other ways you can raise funds to support work towards a brighter future for everyone affected by epilepsy. You can donate directly to Epilepsy Action or take part in a fundraising activity of your choice – there’s something for everyone, from skydiving to the ‘National Tea and cake Break’. If you tag us on social media while you’re fundraising, we’ll certainly share it and say thanks!

If you need any further support, including merchandise and resources to assist you in your fundraising, please call the Epilepsy Action fundraising team free-of-charge on 0808 800 5050, we’ll be glad to help in any way we can. Once again, thanks for your support and good luck with your fundraising!

Best wishes

I am fuming. I donated using text and was charge VAT by T Mobile. When I queried this they told me it wasn't logged as a charity. Surely this should have been done. I would rather the money go to the charity.
