Bed Monitors and Alarms
Bed monitors are designed to monitor seizures or falls at night and during sleep. They are often placed under or near the mattress and detect seizure activity through movement or sound.
To make it easier to compare products, we’ve organised bed monitors and alarms into two categories: Seizure Bed Monitors and Bed Occupancy Monitors.

Seizure Bed Monitors
These monitors aim to detect certain types of seizures by and can often send an alert if one occurs. These detect seizures by monitoring irregular movement, changes in heart rate, and other signals such as oxygen levels.
If you’re not sure what type of seizure bed monitor is right for you, it might be helpful to think about:
- Which type of seizure the device is designed to detect
- Whether it fits under a mattress or is at the bedside
- If it sounds an alarm
- If it sends alerts to caregivers
- If it links with a nurse-call system
- If it is suitable for children
