My pharmacy contacted Wockhardt and they had no sodium valproate available and no idea when it would be in stock

I have emailed and tried telephoning Wockhardt to find out about the apparent shortage of their Sodium Valproate only to have no response. Are you able to get in touch with them and find out what is going on? Our daughter has been having to take Epilim (sugar free) which due to the red E number colouring has adverse effects on her behaviour....she's only had one month back on Epilim (sugar free) and already there's an obvious decline in her behaviour!

Hi Carrie

Thank you for your post.  It is a worrying time when you're unable to get the same medicine.

As it's just early May, it may be some wholesalers are still without stock. I wonder if your pharmacist has phoned Wockhardt customer services to order your daughters medicine directly from them? It may be worth checking this with your pharmacist.

Have just spoken to Wockhardt, apparently they put out a release on Friday - wholesalers should be starting to take deliveries next week, what that means for time of arrival in pharmacies I'm not sure...

Pharmacy still not able to get stock. My son is having to take Epilim and the red colourant stains his teeth.

Hi Tracy-Lee

Thank you for your message. Not having your son's usual medicine is concerning. But for most people, it is safer to take a different version of their medicine than to run out and stop taking medicine suddenly.
