Talk and support group blog September 2023

Our men’s group launched in September, and has been a success. We are really pleased to be offering this space to men to come together in a safe and supportive environment to talk about their experiences.

We also had our new parents with epilepsy group launch. The group is running for 3 sessions, with the wonderful Dr Janine Winterbottom attending. This is a fantastic space to talk about experiences of being a parent with epilepsy, or planning a family.

The groups are still running, so if you want to join us, we would love to welcome you.

Hot topics

These are the topics that came up the most in this month’s groups:

Positive stories

Here is some feedback from our groups in September:

“I’ve really enjoyed this group tonight everyone,  thank you all 🙂”

“I am so glad I am not the only one, I am enjoying listening to others.”

“The group was the only place where people understood what was happening and I could speak openly about my condition.”

Someone had felt so welcomed and took such strength from meeting others.

Everyone who attended spoke about really valuing the group and said they would be returning.

Someone said ‘coming to the group has dragged me from the depths of despair’.
